Zoya Blogger Collection by Birchbox

This nail collection is a collaboration of Birchbox and Zoya. They teamed up with top beauty bloggers to create these custom polishes. Each blogger designed a mood board based on her favorite spring/summer color, and then they asked their Facebook fans to pick the top three boards to complete the Zoya blogger collection. You'll wear these on-trend shades all season. Apply one coat of this buildable jelly formula for a wash of color or layer for a pop of color!

The winners were...... Coraline by Eleventh Gorgeous, Kate by The Small Things, and Belle by Capitol Hill Style.
Here are the colors from left to right. Coraline which is a beautiful tangerine jelly. The next color is Kate which is a rosey grapefruit jelly. Which is very pretty. The last color is Belle which is a sheer jelly base shade with copper, gold, and fuchsia flakes. This is a great color that is meant to layer on top of the other colors or wear on its own. I really like this color. The colors above are very sheer and can be easily built up. In this picture this was three thin coats of each color without a top coat.

This is a limited edition set that retails for $22 for all three colors and is available on www.birchbox.com. I did use my Birchbox points to purchase this set. So essentially it was free. This does not in any way effect my review. If you want to try Birchbox so you can earn points towards free products then use this referral link. http://www.birchbox.com?raf=4h5l0. Thanks.

Sonia Kashuk 4 Piece Mini Nail Color Set- A Powerful Punch

I was in Target the other day and was so happy to find that this was restocked. There was only 2 left so I was in luck I had been trying to find this ever since it was released. This set of nail colors are aptly named A Powerful Punch. The set retails for $9.99. They're cute, bright and fun colors.
There are 4 great spring colors. Khaki Shorts, Making Waves, Ooh La La, and Tutti Frutti. These are exclusive to Target for the Sonia Kashuk limited edition spring collection. I really love these colors and the way they apply. They are kinda streaky at first coat but, become opaque and smooth after the second one is applied. I know that come spring/summer many nail polish companies do colors that are quite similar. This polish is good quality and has some staying power.

I was hesitant at first to getting this set. I then caved in and thus the quest began to finding this. It was sold out for weeks at many Targets that I visited. So every trip to Target I casually went by that section to see if there was one. Till I hit the jackpot. If your still able to find this I would highly recommend it. It's totally worth it.

This is what the colors look like with 2 coats and no top coat.

I really like these colors. I don't currently own an thing that is close to them. I'm not sure how long this collection will be in stores. I know that it is currently available at www.target.com. So what do you think of this collection? Will you try to find it? Do you already have it? If so do you like it? If you have any questions or comments please leave them below.

Spring Has Sprung Nail Design

Well with winter behind us. It now time for spring which begun March the 20th. I was trying to get used to time change earlier in the month. Which still has been a struggle. I was wanting to do a spring time nail design. So I was trying to decide on what to do. I was thinking flowers like many people do. Then I was thinking what kinds of flowers. I have always loved sunflowers and daisies. To me they are classic and delicate. So I chose on doing a daisy as my flower.

I also decided to incorporate a type of bug for my design. I tried ladybugs, dragonflies, butterflies and bees. I decided on doing a bee. I think a bee was going to be perfect. I could also do the dot/dash type lines that are associated with bee drawings. Well at least cartoon ones. I decided to place the bee on my thumb and the dash lines on the middle and pinkie fingers. The ring and pointer finger would have the daisies painted on them.
So I started with my usual base coat.  Then I applied two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Jade Jump.
Then using the yellow acrylic paint and a dotting tool.  I made two dots on both my pointer and ring finger on both hands.  Then using the white acrylic paint and a small brush I made the daisies petals.
After that I then used the black acrylic paint and the dotting tool to paint the dots on my middle and pinkie fingers.  I did this on only one of my hands.  You could do them on both if you want to.
Then I used a dotting tool to make a yellow oval on my thumb nail using the yellow acrylic paint.  Then I applied two black stripes using the black paint.  I also did a V shape to create the stinger.  Behind the stinger I made 3 dots with the dotting tool.  Using a small paint brush I painted the wings. Then using the dotting tool I placed white paint in the wing area. When this dried I put a quick dry top coat to seal in all the nails. Also be careful when using a quick dry top coat as I did because it did smear some of my dot designs. I even let my paint dry 30 minutes.
This is a fairly simple and quick way to do cute spring nails.  I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
