November Birchbox 2012

November's Birchbox was a lot better than last months Goop box. Even though the items are few and okay. It was at least a winner with the addition of a full-sized mascara. So that makes this month alright in my books.
  •  Miracle Skin Transformer / Vanish Instant Imperfection Corrector - Before applying your makeup, prep skin with this serum-infused primer, which has optical diffusers that mask imperfections.
  • Lulu Organics / Lavender + Clary Sage Hair Powder - Revive second-day locks by working this organic dry shampoo into your roots. You'll get plenty of lift, but no residue.
  • Model Co / Fibre Lash Extend - Lengthening Mascara- Falsies without the fuss. This innovative mascara uses tiny lash-extending fibers to give you a lengthy fringe. Rotate the wand inside the bottle to pick up the fibers.
  • Atelier Cologne / Rose Anonyme Cologne Absolute - Thanks to spicy ginger and a touch of bergamot, this sexy new rose scent is more sophisticated than sweet.
  • Lifestyle Extra / Chuao Chocolatier / Assorted ChocoPod - Potato Chip - These bite-sized artisanal treats are made with premium Venezuelan cacao and come in a range of unexpected flavors.
The last item main item was a cute Holiday 2012 Gift Guide for helping you to find the perfect item for the special person in your life whether boy or girl. I really liked this addition it gives me hint for gift giving to whom else, but ME.

November Beauty Box Five 2012

This months Beauty Box Five was not as impressive once again. While I did get two full-sized products they are ones I wasn't too jazzed about getting. So lets see what was in this box.
  • Cetaphil / Moisturizing Lotion - One of the most recommended products for sensitive skin. This mild, non-irritating moisturizer is oil-free, non-greasy, fragrance-free and packed with humectants that bind moisture to your delicate skin.
  • Swagger / Eyeshadow - Created by quirky and fierce makeup artist. Blake Karamazov, these lovely little pots of glittery goodness are 100% vegan and never tested on animals. Unfortunally there was no listing as to what color this was.
  • Model Co / Lip Shine - Tease - This non-sticky, highly reflective, shimmering gloss looks great alone or over your favorite lipstick and leaves your lips looking luscious with long-lasting shine. This does have a cute mirror on the other side to help with application. I've been noticing that lately Model Co has been featured in several sub boxes.
  • Envie De Nuef - Eye Mask - Younger-looking eyes are minutes away with this power-packed anti-aging eye mask. It reduces dark circles, relaxes wrinkles, stimulates cell turnover, increases skin's elasticity and oh-so-much more. I was hoping not to get these eye masks. These too I have been seeing in boxes lately. I guess I'll try it don't know how one will let me know if it works.
  • Global Goddess / Upgrade Complexion Face Primer - Smooth this primer on alone or before makeup to create a radiant, even canvas. Vitamins A and E nourish, while anti-oxidants create a thin veil of protection for a silky finish while pearlescent pigments create a youthful glow. Okay I'm so tired of the face primers as well. Like how many do I need to try. Well I guess I'll give it a go. It looks like at least several applications in each foil-packet.

November Ipsy Bag 2012

This months Ipsy Bag was nothing short of awesome. Everything inside was a nice surprise. I especially loved this bag because it is my birthday month. The little brown bag was so cute very fall and very November. The items in this months bag are as follows:
  • Nailtini / Nail lacquer - This pretty full-sized nail polish in Millionaire was quite a surprise. I have heard of the Tini Beauty brand before I have used their lip-stains for years. This bar confetti shaped foil looks great on the nails and has rose-gold sheen to it. It really reminds me of falling leaves or for some reason Thanksgiving.
  • Chella / Eyebrow Defining Gel - This clear gel is great for having the perfect defined brow. While I have never heard of this brand it is great to try something new. Especially a brow gel one can never have too many of those.
  • The Balm / Meet Matt(e) Eyeshadow - Matt Batali- A beautiful deep rich matte brown color great for lining the upper or lower lash line or to use as an inner-corner shadow or just on it own. While I do own the larger version of this palette I have yet to use it.
  • Starlet Cosmetics / Intense Eyeliner - Black- This is full-sized as well I have not heard of this brand as well. The liner does go on smoothly and is creamy. Who doesn't need another black liner.
  • Bare Minerals / Marvelous Moxie Lip gloss - Dare Devil - Now when I first saw this I thought whoa too dark and vampy. Well it's not unless you layer it. It is a great burgundy color. I really liked it. I have never tried the Moxie line only the Buxom lip glosses. So this was a great opportunity to try one.
I really I'm so impressed with this bag and can't wait to see what the December bag holds. Which will be their anniversary month of one year My Glam / Ipsy. If your interested in subscribing or checking out their site go to www.ipsy.com for more info.

October Beauty Box Five 2012

So this months Beauty Box 5 was themed Tricks of the Trade. This box contained 6 items and one card with a code from NuMe for $100 off. So it was similar to the My Glam one we got months ago.
  • Margania/ Pure Argan Oil- With naturally high levels of Vitamin E and skin-supporting fatty acids, this "miracle" oil is perfect for healing skin ailments and protecting against premature aging. Use alone or mix with your moisturizer. (A little goes a long way)
  • City Lips/ Lip Plumper- This luscious lip plumper's are packed with antioxidants and moisturizing ingredients. Apply alone or over lipstick for fuller, plumper lips in an instant.
  • Showstoppers/ Fashion Tape- Lost a button on your shirt? Does your bra strap keep showing? Keep your "fashion fashioned" with these ingenious, purse-sized packets of double stick designer fashion tape. Now while they only sent one small foil-packet they could have sent several more not enough in my opinion.
  • Goat Haus Dairy/ Lip Balm- Your lips will lust after this light-weight soft and silky goat's-milk lip balm. This is the second product from them. Last months box contained a bath cube to add to the water. While I think this is much better. I'm not quite fond of goat's milk. So I'm not sure about putting it on my lips. I may try it not sure yet. If anything I will give this to El Hubbs he will like it. He's in need of a new lip balm. This company is based in Bryan, TX so that's great with me being a native Texan. So buying items that are made in state is a plus as well. I'm all for supporting my local businesses.
  • Furlesse/ Elevens- Relax frown lines in a gentle, natural (no needles) way. Simply apply the clear patch while you sleep and a few hours later you'll see fewer fine lines. It's that easy. Okay I'm not sure how I feel on this either, but I just may give it a try. Sounds interesting.
  • Lash Card/ Lash Cards- Great for maximizing curl, separating lashes and avoiding those bottom lash mishaps, these discrete little cards are your lashes new best friend. I received two cards with about 4-8 uses from them. While I've seen these before I have never wanted to try them. I also thought that these cards were made from a type of reusable plastic so that you can use them over and over. Oh well, maybe they will make one like that in the future where you can just wash it off and use it till it can be used no more. What a shame.

October Ipsy Bag 2012

Well this is Ipsy's second month so I'm now treating this as my second bag from them. New name change hence new company & new everything. This bag was themed Hello, Bombshell and what can I say this month's bag was the bomb. The chevron black and white bag with red zipper was super cute. Now what was outstanding were the products inside.
  • Couture Colour/ Pequi Oil Treatment- This oil restores softness and shine. Apply a small amount evenly into hair. Use before blow dry or air dry for silky, shiny hair. After you style to control frizziness and fly aways. Or anytime for added softness. This oil has a very tropical smelling scent.
  • Coastal Scents/ Eye shadow sample quad in set 7- which contains Antique Lilac, Wisteria, Lemon Chiffon and Raspberry Tart. These colors are fabulous I love purples especially for my dark brown eyes it looks great.
  • The Balm Cosmetics/ What's your type? "the body builder" mascara- A black mascara with a lengthening formula and a separating, injection molded brush. "Whats Your Type?" You can have thick, bold, massive and defined eyelashes with this mascara. This long lasting, highly pigmented and non-clumping mascara is formulated with vitamin E, panthenol and bamboo to condition and strengthen your lashes to their fullest and foxiest.
  • Be a Bombshell/ Eye Liner- black. A basic black eye liner. Long lasting and highly pigmented – this eyeliner can be used with any look to bring definition to your eyes. Use like a marker, drawing with the tip closest to your lash line. To create a smoky eye look, gently smudge and smoke out liner. For Dramatic full-looking lashes, gently dot between lashes. Follow with a coat of Bombshell mascara. For a pop of color, try a colored pencil!  To make lashes look more full, line the upper lash line with liner and follow with the lining the lower waterline. This liner comes in 3 colors onyx, espresso, and provocateur.
  • Mirenesse/ Lip Bomb Glossy Lacquer Stain- Bomb No. 4- which is a pinky-red. It is described as being in the pink family. A Revolutionary colour that combines gloss, stain and lacquer all in one. Colour that drenches your lips for a juicy high impact colour that's feather-light and super-moist with a velvety finish. Power packed with non-smearing pigment that lasts and lasts. Infused with a breath refreshing mint taste and Lip Perfecting Spheres plus caring vitamins.  The Infinity applicator allows for professional application of precision colour. Don't apply too much! It's better to apply a thin layer first then build it up if you want more colour. For extra long wear pair with a matching lip liner. At first when I got this color I was scared. I applied it using the wand and whoa it was too pigmented. So now I just use a lip brush to apply and the color is much lighter and matches me more. I like how well it stays on throughout the day and though it does transfer somewhat it does stay on and does slightly stain the lips. The formula is creamy and moisturizing so I don't get chapped lips at all which is a plus. This lip bomb stain was full-sized and is pretty pricey. It is probably because this is an Australian brand and their cosmetics always run slightly higher than in the states.
Overall, I was the most impressed with this bag than any other of my subscription boxes this month. I have stuck with My Glam now Ipsy since the beginning. Through thick and thin I have stayed true to this company which will be celebrating it's one year anniversary either this month or next. So it's glad to see them doing well and getting better each and every month even if their name has changed it's now for the better.  If your interested in checking out ipsy go to www.ipsy.com for more information.

October Goop Birchbox 2012

This is my first ever Birchbox that I completely disliked. I was so bummed about it. First of all I was sent an email to opt in or out for the Goop box. Well I opted out I didn't want another themed box if given a choice, which I was. I opted for the usual October Birchbox themed Transformations. I have in the past whether by choice or not have received several themed boxes most of them weren't all that great. So imagine my surprise when this box arrived to my home. I was so upset. I had already seen some of YouTube videos on this box and hardly anyone was happy with them. So moving on I don't know what was the point of giving us a choice if it wasn't going to matter anyway. Now on to the Goop box. Which I aptly named the "Poop" box.

  • Illume/ Red Cedar Candle- Made with soy, beeswax, and essential oils, this candle features a warm scent that comes courtesy of red cedar and vetiver.
  • Jouer/ Lip Enhancer- This best-seller gives you the moisturizing punch of a balm with the satiny finish of a gloss. We're hooked and we know you will be, too. Well first of all they could have given a full-sized one. I hate the Jouer samples they are so tiny and only one if even that in uses.
  • Kiehls/ Rosa Arctica Eye- Conquer dark circles with the brightening eye balm, which is made with collagen-boosting flower extracts.
  • Supergoop!/ City Sunscreen Serum- Wear this award-winning brand's silky SPF 30 serum under your makeup for a weightless UV shield. Okay another item that could have been given in a bigger sample size or even the $20 purse sized would have been nice. I hate these tiny foil packets that you can get free anywhere. So another bust with that one.
  • Luna/ LemonZest Bar- These are zesty snacks that are a goop fave. They're perfect to keep you full in between meals ( plus they double as a healthy dessert!) You know what no thanks I'd rather not have a food product in my box. Thank you. Especially lemon I despise lemon anything except lemonade. I don't like anything lemon. I just don't. Now, lime is okay.
With that being said, I'm so over this months box. I hope that next months box is better. In September 2011 I first joined Birchbox and in October 2011 that's when I received my first box with them. So this month I celebrated 1 year with Birchbox and have never been so upset until now. I know that they will have great boxes in the months to come, but this one really put me off. I stay because you can get points when reviewing the samples and use them in the Birchbox store towards full-sized products so that's why I stay it's like paying $5 a for the box instead of $10. When you do the reviews so with that happy. So Happy 1st anniversary me for being with Birchbox a whole year. Here's to what next year has in store.

September Beauty Army Box 2012

Well upon cancelling my Beauty Bar Sample Society Box with Allure. I decided to try Beauty Army they have been around for sometime. When they first came on to the scene I was on a waiting list to join. Then when I was finally sent an invite I was so happy. I signed up and went to see what is was all about. Well while I liked the idea of getting to choose my own products up to 6 for my box for only $12 monthly. I wasn't to jazzed about the choices available. So I passed. Then later on I was asked to join up again to which on that I passed as well.

So when I found out that now you can just join without an invitation and that they open new subscriptions & samples daily at 9am EST well I decided to give them a try. Well I was enlightened to see what was available to choose given my personal beauty profile. Which can be changed if you want to see if you can get different samples than the ones shown. I was happy with my choices. Now as for the NuMe shampoo that was a choice I wasn't to thrilled about, but it was better than what was available.
Here are the Beauty Army how to's:

Complete the beauty profile
to reveal your nine personalized products.

Choose up to six.

Re-take your beauty profile
to see a different selection.

Skip the month anytime.

Receive your products
within eight to ten days of your selection.

  •  Macadamia/ Healing oil treatment- which I have been dying to try. That alone was the price for the box. So it was well worth it.
  • Young blood/ Mineral Primer- infused with vitamins and minerals it's also paraben free.
  • SunTegrity/ 5-in-1 natural moisturizing face sunscreen- that treats, hydrates, protects, primes and covers skin. This is in tinted in the color light. This formula is for all skin types, vegan, non-greasy, non-toxic. So my guess it's a tinted moisturizer/BB cream.
  • Emani Minerals/ Foundation Primer and Serum- Talc and paraben free. This works as a base coat as well as a moisturizer. This serum helps to fill in fine lines and inhibit the deterioration of collagen.
  • Lipsi Cosmetics/ Aphrodite Powder- This fine powder is designed to absorb the excess oil on your skin, allowing your skin to glow. This finishing powder sets makeup and absorbs shine while keeping your makeup fresh and natural all day long. Layer Aphrodite Powder over your foundation and concealer for a flawless finish that keeps your skin completely oil-free. Wear it alone for a sheer soft coverage. This powder suits all skin types and tones. I have yet to try this out and will see how it works. I have oily skin and I'm glad I chose this.
  • Nume/Hydro Punch Hydrating Shampoo- All I can say is that I already have this sample except that it was the conditioner not a shampoo from My Glam in July's bag. I also got the shampoo in my Beauty Box Five for September so I'm set. This shampoo is for dry or coloured hair. It contains Seratin-K, Sage extract, Bamboo extract and Argan oil from Morocco. It has no parabens or parafins. Now as for me I didn't like the scent it is too overpowering. It gave me an instant headache just like the conditioner did.
So far I liked this service and choices. As for October's box I decided to skip it there was not anything that really popped out this month. So that's another thing I liked about this service if you don't like what you see then you can change your profile daily for up to a 5 day window. If you still don't like anything then you can skip a month. Which is great so I'm all for that. We will see what November's box holds. So if your interested in checking this out go to:https://beautyarmy.com?referral_id=82b851df835f9821b4ed1cd76dd091f1

September Beauty Bar Sample Society with Allure Box 2012

I was truly impressed once again with this box. I have only been with them for several months and well I was so saddened to have to cancel my subscription with them it was getting costly and well frankly I saw what others got for October which as rubbish so that made it easier to cancel. October's box didn't have the OOMPH that the others did. It was basically items in foil packets or small tiny minuscule samples. So that just made it so much easier plus with so many other boxes I have subscriptions with it was getting overwhelming.
  • CellCeuticals/Extremely Gentle Skin Cleanser- Ideal for even the most sensitive skin, this cleanser removes impurities and makeup without drying out the skin. This daily cleanser hydrates the skin and leaves it feeling supple as it removes facial and eye makeup. This product is appropriate for all ages.
  • Diptyque/Eau de Toilette Fragrance- Vetyverio- Made for both women and men, the Diptyque Eaux de Toilette use the finest raw materials to relate a childhood memory and poetically reinvent and enhance nature or a journey, real or dreamed of. A bird, known as the Java Sparrow, hides in the cool of the forest, amid the trees' dense and soothing foliage. Here and there, clearings graced with tropical flowers; the eye discerns groves of long, slender leaves of fragrant vetiver. And from this black and white, somehow perceived in color, rises an image of profuse, blooming vegetation, exquisitely aromatic, dazzling to the senses. There is a winged creature blessed to perch in this paradise. That's why Diptyque calls it "Vetyverio."
  • Ahava/Purifying Mud Mask- This mask contains purifying and softening qualities, clears skin of excess oils, roots out the grime and blackheads, and prevents the formation of blemishes. Soothing, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties with the benefits of Horsetail Extract
    Jojoba Oil nourishes and moisturizes.
  • Stila Cosmetics/Smudge Crayon- Black- Stila Smudge Crayon Waterproof Eye Primer + Shadow + Liner Dazzle is a 3-in-1 gel-based product that glides on with ease and stays in place until you say when. This creamy, multi-pearl formula is infused with emollients for a smooth, comfortable application. Stila Smudge Crayon Waterproof Eye Primer + Shadow + Line Dazzle also provides rich, bold color for more than 6 hours of continuous wear that won't crease over time.
  • Borghese/Borghese B Gloss- Fiore- This Lip Gloss is a lush, glossy color that accentuates lips and provides high-shine looks. Moisturizers deliver a soothing treat while high style pigments add luminosity.
    • Has a long-wearing formula
    • Vitamins A and E deliver moisture
    • Avocado oil, jojoba oil and aloe vera soothe lips

September MyGlam "ISPY" Bag 2012

Well to my surprise MyGlam did a total 180 as they updated their website and even their name. A little confused well I was. I understand a total overhaul of a website to make it better and improve it. As for the name change I don't dig it. Why fix what wasn't broken IPSY beauty by you is what they are calling themselves now. We got a card saying that MyGlam is now....ipsy beauty by you. Same awesome Glam Bag program that you love, only so much better:
  • Samples are personalized with shades just for you
  • Connect with other women you trust
  • Share your own beauty looks on ipsy.com
  • Win prizes with more giveaways than ever
Now I do like the new website and the way people can interact with it a lot more and better than that of the old site. It was a new company just starting and I guess they now know in what direction they want it to go. So now on with the new IPSY Bag.
  • London Soho New York/Smudge Brush- This brush is great and does the job well my only pet peeve is that this brush is super long. Otherwise it passes.
  • Carol's Daughter/Monoi Repairing Split End Mender- Once again another split end product. I'm happy to not have any at the current moment. I really don't need this, but what the hey. I still may try it to prevent them. I really don't use heating products ( irons, blow dryers and etc.) that often. So my hair stays relatively healthy.
  • Mirabella/Eye color- Semi formal- This was a brownish-gold color. I really like it.
  • Jane/Sparkle Gloss- Sparkle Pink- Jane was a brand I used back in high school till in my early 20's then it just simply disappeared. I used to get it at Walgreen's. Now this gloss is nice, but not in this hot pink color it's too bright and sparkly for my taste. It will make a great gift for a friend.
  • Circus by Andrea's Choice/Nail Color- Tightrope- a beautiful bright neon purple. I really love this color and now own all the colors. I had to get 2 of them on trades. The yellow and the orange those were the only ones I was missing. I love the colors and brand. Neon's never go out of style.
  • Makeup Bag/Black with gold zipper- Now this was a super cute bag this month I loved how you could use it as a wristlet.
If your interested in this program then check them out at www.ipsy.com.

September Birchbox 2012

  • Color Club/Birchbox Custom Polish- Status Update- They teamed up with Color Club to create several custom shades, inspired by the Fall 2012 collections.
  • Nexxus/Pro-Mend Split End Treatment System- Infused with coconut oil and amino acids, this shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatment work together to fix unsightly split ends. Now that is great except I don't have any split ends. Nor do I like the terrible foil packet thingies. They are awful can't they just do small plastic bottles like everyone else for these samples.
  • Twistband/Birchbox Custom Lace Hair Tie- Designers go gaga for lace this season and we don't blame them. Get on board with these ouch-free hair ties. Well I already had gotten one of these months ago in a box. It was even the same color. I ended up losing it before I could even try it. Well mine is a plain turquoise blue. Not sure what they mean my lace b/c I don't see any.
  • Vasanti/ Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator- This exfoliating cleanser uses professional- grade (read: effective) microderm crystals and papaya enzymes to brighten dull skin.
  • Youngblood/Mineral Primer- Prevent makeup meltdowns with this clear gel primer, which contains skin-soothing vitamins and minerals.
  • As the lifestyle extras from Mighty Leaf Tea Company/Teas- Swap your afternoon latte for these yummy tea blends, made from natural, ethically sourced ingredients.
  • Birchbox Digital Download/Tristan Prettyman- is there latest musical crush. Download 2 of his brand new tracks. Never heard of him and also I never do downloads anyway so oh well.

September Beauty Box Five 2012

So sorry for the late posting of my September boxes. A lot has been going on in life. So without further ado here it is. My latest BB5 box as okay. I did like the selection and variety available. I could have done without another loose powdered eyeshadow. I'm not a fan of those I tend to like pressed shadows more.

Here was what was in this months box:

  • Nume/Hydro Punch Hydrating Shampoo- All I can say is that I already have this sample except that it was the conditioner not a shampoo from MyGlam in July's bag.
  • Goat Haus Dairy/ Bath Melts 1 bath melt- Taking a bath never left your skin feeling this good. Drop one of these handmade goat's milk bath-melts into your tub and relax...your skin will thank you.
  • Silk Naturals/Eyeshadow- This lovely loose mineral shadows are no exception. Gluten Free and predominantly vegan, they're perfect for sensitive skin and a great addition to your collection.
  • Naabassja Skin/Enzyme Facial Peel- Great for any skin type, this revolutionary facial peel is packed with free-radical fighting antioxidants and uses papaya enzyme to gently eliminate dead, dry skin cells.
  • H. Wood Beauty/Lip Shine- The perfect addition to any makeup bag. This hydrating, sheer-color lip shine is packed with nourishing ingredients like jojoba oil, and mango, avocado and Shea butter. I was not to jazzed about the color and that it was sheer. Oh, well what can I say it was a full-sized and the packaging was cute.

August Beauty Box Five 2012

  • Blum Naturals/Make-up Remover Towelettes- Remove oil, dirt and makeup with these pro age deep cleaning towelettes that leave your skin feeling soft and silky smooth.

  • H2O Plus/Marine Calm Restoring Eye Cream- Use this marine, botanical-infused eye cream to deeply nourish and reduce the look of fine lines and dark circles.

  • Ferro Cosmetics/Sheer Crystal Veil- This multi-purpose powder is the answer to illuminated skin. Dust over or under foundation or mix with moisturizer for a dewy soft finish without the shimmer or glitter. This is a silk infused mineral highlighter that subtly illuminates for glowing dewy skin. Sweep onto cheek & brow bones to highlight and illuminate or anywhere on the body.

  • Ellis Faas/Creamy, Milky, Glazed Lips- Just twist the bottom of this gorgeous silver pen and you'll be wearing the new lip product that everyone is talking about. This was a nice perk since it was a full-sized and retailed $35. I got the color L109 in the creamy version which is the color Pale Coffee. A liquid lipstick for classic definition and long-wearing coverage. The gorgeous texture of this highly pigmented lipstick gives great definition to your lips, both as a full-coverage lipstick as well as a stain. All shades are that of human colors, meaning that they are inspired by the colors that by nature already exist in the human body and are therefore suitable for all skin tones. Doesn't contain Parabens and is unscented and unflavored. This particular lip pen comes in three formulas Creamy, Milky and Glazed. The creamy lip has a doe-foot type applicator that when you twist the bottom the product comes out through the tiny holes at the top of the pen. The other two formulas come in a brush style pen. It applies soft and creamy. Very nice and looks pretty in your makeup bag.

  • Dermaesthetics USA/Vitamin C 20 Serum- Helps prevent the premature signs of aging with this double-duty Vitamin C that promotes collagen production and brightens lackluster skin. Well I will see if this works any I need brightening of my skin. If this does then I'm in trouble a 1oz costs $144 wow so pricey.

August Beauty Bar Sample Society with Allure box 2012

  • Phyto/Phytonectar Treatment Oil- This is an ultra nourishing oil treatment for the hair containing 98% botanical ingredients. You apply this from roots to ends, massage to facilitate penetration. Leave on for minimum of 15 minutes. Then you rinse then shampoo. This should be used once to twice a week, for 5 consecutive weeks.

  • Deborah Lippmann/Nail Lacquer- This was a full-sized polish in Private Dancer. Which ironically is my favorite Tina Turner song next to We don't need another Hero (Thunderdome). Any who this is a beautiful purple mirrored chrome finish which looks like many different colors depending on the nails angle and the lighting. I really like it and was worth the box.

  • Jane Iredale/Longest Lash Mascara- This came in the color Black Ice it is a thickening and lengthening mascara. I can't say much about this because I haven't used it yet. I have so many mascaras as of late and haven't even gotten to them all. Plus, I haven't had great luck with her products. I was sent a lipstick sample from her not to long ago in another box. Well I hated it for starters the smell was overwhelming so I never tried it.

  • Elemental Herbology Skin Care/Facial Detox Purifying Facial Mask- I have never heard of this brand before and yet another mask. I have sent so many in recent months. I just haven't been able to try them all. So I think I'm set for life. This mask is made in England and what you do is apply to clean dry skin leave on for 10 minutes then remove it with a warm face cloth. Splash cool water and pat dry. They also say to use this tri-weekly for oily skin or otherwise use weekly. For combo skin to only use on congested areas. So we will see how this mask works.

  • Arcona/Cranberry Toner- This 3 in 1 cranberry milk toner cleanses, tones and hydrates, infusing skin with protective antioxidants to leave it glowing and refreshed.  Removes dirt, oil and make-up. Protect and clarify skin with antimicrobial cranberry, containing vitamins, phyto nutrients and essential fatty acids. Neutralize free radicals with vitamin E tocopherols and tocotrienols. Nourish and restore skin with omegas 3, 6 and 9 and rice milk. A lot to say for such a little bottle of toner.

  • Malin+Goetz/Vitamin E Face Moisturizer- Wow this is a super small special bonus. A sachet with a sample of this moisturizer. Which should be called a foil pack. This is for all skin types with fatty acid absorption technology. This residue-free moisturizer is scientifically synthesized with soothing vitamins E and B5 to gently and effectively hydrate and balance all skin types. Absorbent fatty acids and fatty alcohols, unlike traditionally greasy, pore-clogging oils, are blended for an intensely nourishing treatment to reduce epidermal irritation. Natural fragrance and color. Easily integrated into daily maintenance and prevention regimen. Another wow all this on the back of one tiny packet. This also claims it's concentrated and to use a small amount avoiding eyes, oily areas, and over-moisturizing. Increase application for dryer areas. I have oily skin so I guess I should avoid using this at all.

August Birchbox 2012

  • Caldera/Handsoap- A delicious smelling soap loaded with aloe vera and olive oil to soften and moisturize hands. I'm not sure how I feel about these small samples of this soap. I would have perfered a small bottle of some sort just saying.

  • Juicy Couture/Viva la Juicy La Fleur- A modern scent that is a feminine blend of wild berries, mandarin, and waterlily. I was unfortunally unable to try this since the bottle came broken. I'm going to be sent a replacement soon.

  • DDF/Brightening Cleanser- This foaming gel uses an all-star team of skin brighteners to fade discoloration and even out skin tone. I have been trying this and like it except it really dries my super oily skin especially around my nose, mouth and chin area. No bueno if it dries my skin. I haven't seen any brightening so far nor evening out of my skin tone which I so greatly need. I'm only using it once a day at night.

  • Pixi Beauty/Beauty Blush- This cheek-sculpting blush softens skin with rosehip and honeysuckle flower extracts. Now this I was happy to get in my box. I did get rosey color which I thought was not pretty until I put it on. Then I really liked it a lot. This brand is sold at Target that is how I'm familiar with this brand. This is my first product from them and I love it.

  • Schick/ Hydro Silk Razor- This was a part of something new from Birchbox it's called Birchbox Finds. This is when they keep an eye out for affordable finds that will improve your day to day. This razor has a water-activated serum that moistruizes the skin while you shave and the innovative oval-shaped design hugs tricky areas like the knees and ankles.

August MyGlam Bag 2012

  • Eclos/Cellular Activator Facial Serum and Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream- These products use Plant Stem Cell research in this lightweight liquid serum. Which awakens dormant skin stem cells and increases their longevity and enhances their ability to function like young cells. The Face cream contains high potency plant cells to help protect your own skin stem cells. It also helps slow the signs of aging and tighten sagging skin.

  • Salty Cosmetics/Glama-ZOID-Eye Shadow- This white looking powder eye shadow is hiding a secret it's really has a pinky-purple based tint upon applying to your eyes. It is very iridescent in color and makes a great inner-corner highlight or brow bone accent.

  • Circus by Andrea's Choice/Ringmaster Nail color-This beautiful shocking hot pink is a great color to add to the one from last month. I got the color Reverso in my last bag it was a great true white color.

  • Demeter Fragrance Library/Roll on Perfume Oil/Dragon Fruit Scent- This very sweet scent was really nice had I not been allergic to the smell. Otherwise it would have been great. I ended up giving mine away. It did also come in a Clean Skin Scent as well. I was told that one smelt like baby powder which I wouldn't have liked either.

  • My Glam Glam Gloss/Shade 02- This gloss was an extra added bonus that was not featured in the hints for the month. It was a welcome surprise to have. This was sent as a thank you for our support and for being a Glammie. This gloss was a hot pink opalescent color which just from viewing it in the tube would have not worked with my skin tone. So I ended up trading it for the color 01 which was a bubble gum pink color and that worked a lot better.

July Beauty Box Five 2012

This will be short and sweet. I just received my Beauty Box Five. It too was late like my MyGlam bag. This usually ships on the 15th give or take depending on what day it falls on. Well they didn't go out till the 20th then I finally got in on the 25th. So sorry this post is late I've had a lot going on as of late. So I'll just jump right in.
As for this month's box I was disappointed I was hoping for better. Anyways I should have known seeing that this month there was no crinkle paper inside like usual. Just the empty box with the items in the usual drawstring bag. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Maybe they were in a hurry to get the boxes out and forgot it.

So Inside my bag were the following items. From Blinc a tiny sample sized mascara. Which is okay seeing that this is my 3 one. I received an almost full-sized sample from Birchbox and one from my Total Beauty box. Both which I haven't even tried yet. If its anything like the liner I will pass. Sample Value $4.75

Eyelashes from Hollyren these are nice if I wore lashes. I still have the pair MyGlam gave us and I still haven't tried them yet. I know I said I would. I really don't go anywhere special so oh well. Sample Value $7.00

From Spongables a Pedi-Scrub Foot Buffer now this I have tried in the past and loved it. It does do the job and keeps my feet looking nice and smooth. One side exfoliates and the other cleanses and moisturizes. Sample Value $2.99

The last item was from Bodyography a Makeup Primer. I have never heard of this company so I'm guessing that they are new. This primer claims to erase the look of fine lines, prolong the wear of your favorite foundation and help prevent collagen breakdown. This primer is anti-aging and oil-free as well. Sample Value is $15.00

So the only great things about this box was the primer because of the great value. It is half of a full-sized tube which is valued at $30. So that is a plus and if it claims half of what it does then that's great. The only other item I liked and did need another was the foot buffer sponge. So I guess the box paid for itself with the primer and my sponge. I will give them another month to see what pans out. I have given them several chances and then the next month will Wow me. So then I stay. We will see. This box was valued at $29.74

July MyGlam Bag 2012

Well my bag finally made it here after being M.I.A for 11 days. It was so weird I received a confirmation as to when the bag was shipped UPS before being handed over to the USPS. Well for some reason on Friday the Thirteenth it was showing that it left Austin, TX and that it was transferred to my local post office it showed that information for 10 days.  With no updates. Until it was finally on the 11th day that it showed that it would be delivered. Wow. So on Monday the 23rd I finally got my bag.

This bag is great and almost one of the best bags I've received from them. I love the style of this make-up bag its so cute, fun and colorful. So in this months bag the theme was Greetings from MyGlam "The land of beauty". The card was a cute post card style. Inside were 5 items a choice of moisturizer and also a choice of lip product. All the other items were similar.
I got an Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion from Kiehl's in a convenient travel size. It says its perfect for normal to oily skin types. So this will be a treat to try . It has a very light scent of citrus it seems well at least to me. Not overpowering really nice. Sample Value $6.75
From NuMe a Hydro Punch Hydrating Conditioner it is for dry or coloured hair. It contains Seratin-K, Sage extract, Bamboo extract and Argan oil from Morocco. It has no parabens or parafins. Now as for me I didn't like the scent it is too overpowering. It gave me an instant headache. Sample Value is around $2.50
A Yes to Cucumbers On-The-Go Facial Towelettes which are soothing. It has cucumbers and aloe vera to cleanse, remove makeup, and nourish the skin...all in one swipe. This comes in a travel-sized pack of 10. Well let me tell you now I opened them to see how they smell. Ewww. Terrible I can't stand cucumbers let alone smell one. I can possibly take a slight scent that may wear off fast but, oh no not these. I will be giving them to my sister. Sample Value $2.99
The lip product I did get was from Josie Maran whom I've heard of but, never had the pleasure to try any of her product line. I got the Magic Marker Lip & Cheek Stain. Well for starters I got this in Quickstep which is a rich plum color. Now I wished I would have gotten Mambo which was a toasted beige color. I'm not too much into plum lips. Well I did try it to see how it would look. It was all right It reminded me of the Cover Girl lip stains and even had that sweet berry taste like them. Now I wouldn't pay full-price for something like this because you can find it cheaper and it will do the same thing. I tried it on my cheeks and no ma'am it wasn't for me. It was too streaky and blotchy. I may try applying it like Michelle Phan does in her July MyGlam how to video. Sample Value $19
Lastly is a Nail Polish from Circus by Andrea's Choice. Andrea is a MyGlam Guru and part of the group. She has apparently started a nail polish line. I guess jump on the wagon while its hot. I believe these are 3-Free. Not quite sure. Well I got the color Reverso which is just a plain white color. It applied very streaky in the first and second coats. I wasn't going to try for a third. It is alright I'm not sure because this is going to be part of a nail color set. She is launching in the fall. I believe there will be 5 colors. Sample Value $8?

So overall this bag was great minus the shipping problem. I also forgot to mention I did e-mail the girl's about my bag on Thursday and they did get back to me on Monday the same day the bag was said it would be delivered. They nicely said that they had looked into the issue and that the bag would be there that day. They were sorry for the shipping issue. I told them it was OK. I was just glad I got my bag. Also this is the first time it has ever been this late. This bags Value was $39.24.

July Birchbox 2012 with Glamour Magazine

I was thrilled and excited to find out last month that Birchbox had teamed up with Glamour Magazine to do a box. It was titled the 5 senses which were smell it, touch it, taste it, hear it, and see it. So of course I couldn't wait to see what was inside my box. Well I didn't have to wait any longer because it came earlier than expected and for that I was grateful.
Now as for what was in my box I was not to jazzed about this month. I do think that this was way better than the Gossip Girl box that was given out in May. All though I still was not as happy to get what I got. I really was hoping for the Eyeko eyeliner (I had heard great things about it) and some of the other items that they had previewed in their video. I normally get most of the items they feature.
Alterna Bamboo UV+ Color Protection Fade-Proof Fluide. This finishing gloss prevents UV rays from fading color while organic bamboo extracts keep hair strong and soft. Sample Value $2.40
Dr. Jart + Water fuse BB Cream. This lightweight moisturizer, serum, sunscreen, and skin-perfecting tint is the a must have for this summer in your beauty lineup. Sample Value $6.40
Here is what the color looks like and the after effect with coverage.

Stila Lip Glaze in Tropica Punch. This tropical shade from the Tiki Lip Glaze Trio combines sheer color with mega-watt shine. While this is okay and you would think I would be grateful well I don't care for this color. PS I also have like 6 of these lip shines and never once used them. So I really didn't need another. Well how would they have known right. Sample Value $4
Suki Nourishing Kit set of 5 products. With a fresh botanical scent, this all-in-one set uses natural ingredients to hydrate and brighten skin. While doing a little research on this I came to find out that this 5 PC foil sample set is sold at on the Dermstore's website. So they are selling the exact same set except with 7 samples instead of 5. The sample set consists of the same sized foil packets for $17.95. Which is crazy in my opinion. The Birchbox set for $50 are larger samples in actual bottles. They are still pricey though. Sample Value $2.56 each packet total for set $12.83.
Lifestyle Extras were from Lara Bar the Uber bar. The latest addition to their snack drawer, these healthy and satisfying bars are packed with dried fruits and nuts. Sample Value $1.75
The Birchbox exclusive was Ear buds designed for us in cute neon colors. I'm really happy to get these I can always use a spare pair for my purse while on the go. Sample Value $5

So that was my box all 5 senses. Touch It was the Alterna Bamboo UV+ Spray. See It was the Dr, Jart + BB Cream and the Stila Lip Glaze. Smell It was the Suki Nourishing Kit. Taste It was the Lara bar and of course Hear It was the Ear buds. So overall all it was an alright box. At least I didn't get a perfume sample like so many others did for Smell It. This box was valued at $32.38

July Beauty Bar Sample Society with Allure box 2012

This months box for the Beauty Bar Sample Society was a really nice box. It contained 5 deluxe-sized products and one full-sized. Which was very nice.
Jouer luminizing moisture tint SPF 20 - oil free in Bronzed 0.17 fl.oz. I had already had a sample of this from Birchbox. This sample is way bigger than the Birchbox one which is the sample on the bottom which was in the color Pearl. Sample Value $3.80
Borghese Tono Body Creme in a nice deluxe sized tube 1fl.oz. This brand I used to use a few years ago so this creme is great and will do well. Sample Value $6.79
Vbeaute Eye Never Nourishing Repair Eye Cream 0.033 fl.oz. This was a tiny sample which is alright by me except that once again the tube was empty. There was no product inside. I will contact the company on this. They were so nice to respond and send out a replacement for last months eye cream that was empty as well. Sample Value $5.67
Sisley Paris Hydra-Global Intense Anti-Age Hydration. Now this was a nice surprise since a bottle of this runs $250. So this is 1/10th of a full-sized. Sample Value $25
Vincent Longo Duo Lip Pencil which is strange because the inside booklet says it should be an eye pencil. Well for starters the pencil is in the color Sangria and the other side is a white glimmer. Now I don't see putting white liner on. So maybe you could use it for the eyes. I found out from another blogger that this particular pencil duo was discontinued. So if this is true then that's not right because what if I liked it. Then that would mean I couldn't purchase it. Sample Value $26

So closing thoughts I'm very happy with the items in this months box with the exception of the pencil and the non-existent eye cream. This box was valued at $67.26 not bad since I paid $15. If your interested in subscribing to this box or want more information visit www.beautybar.com

**Side note so sorry for the pictures. I had them cropped and for some reason they didn't save a such nor did my watermarks how weird.

Cravebox Summer Spruce Up Ltd Ed box 2012

Well Cravebox has done it again & produced another great box. This time around Cravebox has several limited edition boxes to give away this summer. They have several to choose from. To aquire one you have to select on their site that you want to be notified as to when a special summer box is being offered. Then the first 1,500 to 2,500 it depends on the box and how many they will be given out. Then you will be notified as to when to enter the lottery drawing. If you are chosen and accept the box you will be charged $10 and it will ship within the week.

Well as my luck would have it I was chosen to receive their first box. I did sign up to be notified when this was available. This particular Cravebox is the Summer Spruce Up Limited Edition Cravebox. In this box were 5 items to equip me with cleaning essentials to help make my home as pretty inside as it was outside.
In this box was Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser & Polish. This unique non-bleach formula will even remove rust, and is great for cleaning stainless steel. Sample Value $3.95

Dawn Duo Sponge Cloth. Scrub on one side. Wipe on the other. Safe on non-stick cookware, dishes, bakeware & countertops. Sample Value $2.99

Mr. Clean Bliss Gloves. Latex-free gloves with a super plush flock lining adds comfort and helps keep hands dry. Sample Value $3.99

Sprayaway Glass Cleaner. This amonia-free, clean scent formula doesn't streak, leave a film or drip. This also included a $.35 coupon for a future purchase. Sample Value $2.16

Then a coupon for one free box of Glad Tall Kitchen Bags. These bags have reinforcing bands to add strength while using less plastic. Sample Value $5.49

This box was valued at $18.58 which is a great deal. Personally I have never tried the Glass cleaner nor the Dawn cloth and the Mr. Clean gloves. I have and currently use Glad trash bags and the Bar Keepers Friend. Which does work wonders on my sink. I hope that I'm chosen for the Limited Edition Beauty box. I'm sure that will be a great one as well. So if your interested in checking out this box service then go to www.cravebox.com.

Update: I now have tried the gloves and really like them. They are so comfortable and do not leave a gross residue on my hands after I take them off. The Dawn cloth is amazing and that I will purchase this again as well. As for the glass cleaner it does work better than my Windex and is less messy. So with that I like to say that this box was great and gave me the chance to try out new items that I otherwise may have not tried.
