September MyGlam "ISPY" Bag 2012

Well to my surprise MyGlam did a total 180 as they updated their website and even their name. A little confused well I was. I understand a total overhaul of a website to make it better and improve it. As for the name change I don't dig it. Why fix what wasn't broken IPSY beauty by you is what they are calling themselves now. We got a card saying that MyGlam is now....ipsy beauty by you. Same awesome Glam Bag program that you love, only so much better:
  • Samples are personalized with shades just for you
  • Connect with other women you trust
  • Share your own beauty looks on ipsy.com
  • Win prizes with more giveaways than ever
Now I do like the new website and the way people can interact with it a lot more and better than that of the old site. It was a new company just starting and I guess they now know in what direction they want it to go. So now on with the new IPSY Bag.
  • London Soho New York/Smudge Brush- This brush is great and does the job well my only pet peeve is that this brush is super long. Otherwise it passes.
  • Carol's Daughter/Monoi Repairing Split End Mender- Once again another split end product. I'm happy to not have any at the current moment. I really don't need this, but what the hey. I still may try it to prevent them. I really don't use heating products ( irons, blow dryers and etc.) that often. So my hair stays relatively healthy.
  • Mirabella/Eye color- Semi formal- This was a brownish-gold color. I really like it.
  • Jane/Sparkle Gloss- Sparkle Pink- Jane was a brand I used back in high school till in my early 20's then it just simply disappeared. I used to get it at Walgreen's. Now this gloss is nice, but not in this hot pink color it's too bright and sparkly for my taste. It will make a great gift for a friend.
  • Circus by Andrea's Choice/Nail Color- Tightrope- a beautiful bright neon purple. I really love this color and now own all the colors. I had to get 2 of them on trades. The yellow and the orange those were the only ones I was missing. I love the colors and brand. Neon's never go out of style.
  • Makeup Bag/Black with gold zipper- Now this was a super cute bag this month I loved how you could use it as a wristlet.

Take Three Free! Zoya Pinterest Trio Contest

Zoya and Pinterest were having a repinning contest. It was called the "Take Three Free" Zoya Pinterest contest. What you had to do was repin your favorite colors from the new summer collection. From 5/22 till 6/5/2012. As many times as you wanted. The winning trio would go out for free if 20,000 or more pins were made in that time frame. Then when the time came you had to enter the code to get the free trio. The only catch was to pay for S&H which was $6.95 which wasn't bad. I didn't expect them to eat the shipping as well.

So I was somehow one of the lucky 2,000 people who were given a chance to get a trio of Zoya mini nail polishes. From the Beach and Surf 2012 collection. So which ever three colors were repinned the most. Those were the ones that would be chosen for the trio set. The colors that made the cut were Myrta, Kimber, and Zuza.
Myrta is a warm medium orange coral with a red undertone, gold and silver metallic shimmer, and a foil like finish. The coral color is soft and the foil finish gives it a soft warmth and glow. It is a cool opaque coral color.
Kimber is a rich, bright and saturated medium magenta pink with a strong gold metallic shimmer and a foil like finish. A hint of shiny gold makes this polish look electric. It is a warm opaque pink color.
Zuza is a deep oceanic turquoise with gold and silver metallic shimmer and a foil like finish. This color has the perfect marriage of blues and greens. It is a cool opaque blue green color.
So it seems out of all 12 in the collection the shimmer ones won over the cream shades. I really love the cream shades best. But, hey I wasn't the only one who voted. I guess so many people still like the shimmer shimmer. I'm just happy I was able to partake in this. Also shipping was really fast. I got my set in like 5 days not bad at all.
Since the contest was a great success and the trios sold out so fast since only 2,000 were available, they wanted to reward those who missed out but still participated in the contest for their favorite colors. That's why Zoya is still having a special deal on the Beach & Surf collection. You can pick 3 full-sized bottles for $15 + free shipping till 6/25/12, 11:59 PM EST. You must have participated in the repinning contest and have received an email stating the rules and how to redeem this new promotion. It is only one promo per address. Offer valid on www.zoya.com only. If you did not get an email from Zoya chances are you can not participate in this promo.

Mother's Day Nail Design 2012

So another Mother's Day is almost upon us. I may not have any children of my own & that's OK. I have been a pet parent for almost 2 years now to my wonderful "children" a girl and a boy cat. They are in a way like children they fight, won't eat what you give them, don't listen to you and get into all sorts of messes. So with that I present to you my simple and cute nail design for Mother's Day. So if you are a mother or a mother to be or even a mother to a pet or pets. Then I hope you appreciate this as much as I do. PS- Happy Mother's Day to all and to my mom as well.
Here is a close up of my nails. The pattern was inspired by Betsy Johnson's iconic floral print. If you want to know what colors or products I used. Please leave me a comment below and I will be happy to let you know. Like I said, this is a quick simple to the point nail design. So cute to wear any day not just on Mom's special day. Also if you have any requests or ideas for any future nail designs please let me know as well.
