This will just be a quick and easy post on my 4th of July nails. I thought it was better to do them early so that I won't be too late in posting them. I have lots to do for the next few weeks so it was better to do them now. I had contemplated on what to do. I already had several sketches on a notebook prior to this design so I kept thinking on just what to do for the final design. So here it is.
I decided on Fireworks and half of a flag for french tips. Then on the thumb a flag. I really had fun doing this and I hope you like it as well. When I got finished that was then when I realized that it was better if I had done both firework nails in red. I think it would have come out better. What do you think? If you want to know more about this nail design or what I used to create it just let me know. Thanks. Have a safe and happy 4th of July.

Camouflage Nails
One day while staring at my husbands lighter which he has had for years. I thought how cool it would be to do camo nails. Now I know that this is not a new idea or design and that there are many other designs of camo nail art around.
As for me I have always been a huge fan of camo. I know that many people may not agree with this but, we are all entitled to our opinion. So without further ado here is my nail art creation.
I used a base color from Spoiled by Wet n' Wild in the color I only eat salads. Then the rest of the colors were done with acrylic paint by craft smart sold at Michael's. Using a dotting tool I applied the dark green, dark brown, and black color in random patterns overlapping to make the design look more authentic. After this dried I applied two coats of NYC's Matte me Crazy Mattifying Top Coat.
If you wanted you can also use a shiny top coat or even a slight glittery top coat as well. The sky's the limit when doing any nail design. If you have any design requests please let me know by leaving a comment below thanks. I will be trying to post more nail designs as this is something I love doing.
I will also be doing a pink camo design as well for us girly girls.

Wonder Woman Nails

Well sometime last month on Facebook OPI was having a challenge for nail art. It was their Heroic Hands contest. So I decided to try it out and submit an entry. I even did this while sick. I somehow was already going to do Wonder Woman nail art for the blog. Then this opportunity came & I decided to do it sooner. I have always been a fan of Wonder Woman. I watched her show when I was a kid. I even had her Underoos. So in saying that she has always been my superhero.
So while brainstorming and deciding what designs and where to place them on my fingers I did several prototype nails on a nail wheel till I had the right combo. The contest wanted you to do them on your natural nails and not on falsies or a Mani hand. So this was a challenge since I loved the way the sample ones turned out. It was a bit harder to do on my nails since they are much smaller than the sample nails.
Well here is the final product. In saying this I may not win only because this is based on Facebook followers votes. So the voters all have to like the OPI page and be on FB. Which is fine. Miracles could happen.
This is the view a little closer.
From left to right: Her Tiara, Her Outfit, The top of her boot, The lasso of Truth, and Logo.

Above is a link to vote for me if you like my nails. I'm not sure when the contest ends it just begun on June 6th. Thanks.

Lemonade Day is May 6th 2012

Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experimental learning program that teaches children how to start, own and operate their own business using a lemonade stand as well as fundamental lessons about life, success and themselves. You get to make your own stand and signs you even get to make a free website to advertise your stand. Plus you get to share with the world in minutes at the lemonadeday.org site. You can also add your stand to the Houston map so everyone can find your business. I feel that this is a great teaching tool. Which kid hasn't had their own lemonade stand while growing up or purchased a cup of that refreshing beverage? I know I did.
I'm pretty sure this is a national effort as well. So if your want more information or want to donate or volunteer then just log on to www.lemonadeday.org or www.Houston.LemonadeDay.org.
So in the spirit of Lemonade Day 2012 I decided to do something fun and different.
So here is a lemonade drink, with two lemon slices and some clouds. Perfect weather for an ice-cold drink.
Here is a close up of my thumb nail. I just decided to make a whimsical lemon character. Since this is a program geared for children. I made the look of the nails to be cute and childlike.
So if you are interested in what colors I used or have any questions please let me know. Or if you have any ideas or requests for future nail art creations. Please comment below. Thanks.
